After graduating from the University Of Baltimore School Of Law in 2007, I joined the law firm of Ralph W. Powers, Jr., P.C. to represent those in construction, contract, personal injury, estate and criminal cases.
From 2010 to 2013, I followed my family tradition of military service and maintained a position at the Judge Advocate General’s Corps United States Air Force. Based in Japan at the Yakota Air Base, I handled administrative charges, Article 15 cases and violations of the Uniform Code of Military Justice. I also worked with Afghan judges, lawyers and tribal leaders in Afghanistan to build a more functional legal system.
In 2013, I was reassigned to Chief of Military Justice at McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, NJ and prosecuted many high-profile crimes, including DUI, drug, child pornography and rape crimes.
In 2014, I transitioned out of active duty and established my own law firm in Upper Marlboro – the Law Office of Michael E. Lyons, P.C. I continue to help individuals with family law, personal injury, criminal, real estate and civil litigation matters. Recently, in 2016, I partnered with Patriots Law Group to handle legal matters for the military community stationed in Maryland and Washington D.C.
